Why an oil and filter change matters
Engine oil lubricates, cools and cleans the hundreds of moving parts inside your engine. Over time it breaks down and fills with grit, which means more friction, more wear and poorer fuel economy. A fresh oil and filter change is the cheapest thing you can do to keep your engine healthy and avoid expensive repairs later on.
What is included
- Drain the old oil and remove the used filter
- Fit a new filter and refill with the correct grade of oil for your car
- Top up to the right level and check for leaks
- Reset the service light where your car has one
- A quick visual check of belts, hoses and fluid levels while we are under the bonnet

Signs you are due an oil change
- The oil warning light appears on your dashboard
- The oil on the dipstick looks dark, thick or gritty
- The engine sounds louder or rougher than usual
- It has been 12 months, or plenty of miles, since your last change
How often should you change your oil
As a rule of thumb, most cars need an oil and filter change every 12 months or in line with the manufacturer service interval, whichever comes first.
